Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2025

Welcome to Starfield (“Starfield”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).
These Terms govern your use of our web application, APIs, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Purpose of the Service

Starfield provides AI-powered voice and translation tools that allow users to make or receive phone calls, generate live transcripts, and communicate across languages.
Starfield processes audio and text in real time but does not record or permanently store call audio.

2. Permitted Use

Starfield is designed for personal and assistive communication, such as rescheduling or cancelling appointments or bridging language barriers.

You may not use the Service for:

  • Sales, marketing, or telemarketing calls
  • Bulk or automated outreach
  • Any business or professional activity conducted on behalf of an organization or client
  • Impersonation or misleading use of voice or identity

By using the Service, you confirm that your calls are personal or transactional in nature.

3. Data Processing & Retention

  • Audio streams are processed transiently and not stored.
  • Text transcripts are temporarily retained for up to 60 minutes to display to the user and enable translation features, then automatically deleted.
  • Minimal call metadata (e.g., timestamps, user ID, language) may be stored for security and billing.
  • No data is used to train models or shared with advertisers.

4. Automated Assistant Disclosure

Where a third party interacts with Starfield’s automated system, the assistant identifies itself as such.
The Service is designed for lawful assistive communication, not for autonomous telemarketing or mass outreach.

5. Account & Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that misuse the Service or violate these Terms.
You may delete your account at any time by contacting eskil@starfield.app.

6. Subprocessors

We rely on secure subprocessors (e.g., DeepL, OpenAI, Supabase) to process audio or text solely for providing the Service.
These providers comply with GDPR and similar privacy standards.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind.
We are not responsible for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Disputes will be resolved by the competent courts of Zürich, Switzerland.
